SEA.AI and SLAM Clothing Partnership Announced

Reflecting the spirit of innovation and shared values between the two companies, intelligent safety electronics manufacturer SEA.AI and Italian sailing-wear brand Slam have partnered to supply high-quality apparel to SEA.AI crew members.

SEA.AI and SLAM Clothing Partnership Built on Innovation and Shared Values

This partnership ensures that our team, who operate in challenging maritime environments, are outfitted with reliable, durable clothing tailored for life at sea. It also ensures they are stylishly dressed for boat shows and industry events.

Advanced Maritime Safety Meets Performance Sailing Wear

We offer advanced technology that enhances vessel safety by using daylight and infrared cameras combined with machine vision and artificial intelligence. This system helps identify potential floating hazards and collision threats that other technologies, such as AIS and radar, may not detect.

With our core technology originating in automotive collision avoidance systems, we first developed on offshore racing yachts typically being sailing across oceans or around the world. Our user base has since extended to superyachts as well as the commercial, and governmental markets with bespoke product lines for each.

“Our team can face tough conditions at sea, and having the right gear is essential—not just for comfort, but for safety. With Slam, we know our crew will be outfitted in clothing that performs as well as they do, both on the water and when representing us at industry events.”

Slam, founded in Genoa in the late 1979s, has long been a trusted name in sailing apparel. Known for its technical sailing-wear, the company provides gear that keeps sailors comfortable and protected in challenging environments. Slam’s products have been worn by sailors in high-profile competitions such as the America’s Cup and the Olympics.

“Slam has always been about combining performance with style, and this partnership with SEA.AI is a natural fit. We’re proud to outfit their crew with apparel that not only stands up to the rigors of the sea but also looks sharp when it matters most.”

SEA.AI: Enhancing Safety with Cutting-Edge Vision Technology

For all maritime vessels, from leisure to commercial, we provide a vital addition to their electronic safety and anti-collision arsenal.

While AIS can track and identify many vessels, superimposing this data over electronic charts that indicate land, depth contours, fixed navigation marks, obstructions, etc, radar can display unidentified targets strongly, weakly or not at all depending upon their range and radar signature.

Typically, there remain many other items on the high seas that neither AIS nor radar can pick up.

We at SEA.AI fill in the gaps left by the other two technologies by using entirely different technology – daylight and infrared cameras in conjunction with the very latest in ‘machine vision’ and artificial intelligence.

Any objects identified in live images from its cameras – during the day or night – are compared with our massive database of maritime objects to determine whether or not it represents a collision threat.

In addition, this technology has proved invaluable in search and rescue, being able to detect a person in the water when the human eye cannot while for commercial vessels needs to cross the more sensitive of the world’s seas, it can provide protection through being a piracy detection system.
