SEA.AI has been developing since 2018 a range of collision avoidance products combining the latest in machine vision and artificial intelligence technologies. The company manufactures market-specific products: from commercial to search and rescue vessels to pleasure craft and racing yachts – with more than half of the Vendée Globe fleet soon to set off singlehanded non-stop around the world with SEA.AI equipment onboard.

Anti Collision Technology in Vendée Globe

Based on the past nine editions of the Vendée Globe, only around 60% of participants finish. Most withdrawals are caused by technical failures, and a significant number are the result of collision damage. As the 2024–25 Vendée Globe prepares to launch on 10 November from Les Sables d’Olonne, a majority of IMOCA competitors will carry a powerful ally on board: SEA.AI’s state-of-the-art anti collision technology.

This marks the second Vendée Globe where SEA.AI’s system will be installed on IMOCA-class yachts.
